    Credit Card Savings
Your wallet is filled with credit cards, but are you getting all the benefits? In addition to airline miles and cash back, credit cards offer other benefits such as discounts and special access to events. So instead of just filling your wallet with cards, you can also fill your wallet with savings.

    Credit Card Network:

These offers and benefits relate to credit cards in the following networks. It doesn’t matter which bank issued the card. As long as your card has the specific network logo, you are set.

    American Express:

First off are all the special discount offers. Visit www.AmericanExpressOfferZone.com for a long list of travel, gift, dining and shopping discounts. You can save while shopping online and in-store. Discounts include online stores such as Overstock.com or a local salon such as Van Michael. Many deals are national, but there are also local offers too. If you are traveling to a major city, make sure to check out the promotions for your destination. Also check the website on a regular basis, as offers are constantly added.

Once you have purchased something on your American Express, you can rest assured with their protection plans. Most cards will double a manufacturers’ warranty up to a year when you purchase your item entirely with American Express. They also offer loss or damage protection too.

Finally, American Express offers exclusive access to events. Card members can purchase tickets earlier or for better seats than the general public. For example, card members could purchase tickets to Cirque du Soleil before they went for sale to the general public.

    MasterCard:

For discount offers you can see their list at: http://www.mastercard.com/us/personal/en/specialoffers/savings_discounts/index.html The savings are mostly national and not as extensive at American Express.

Other MasterCard benefits are not quite as broad as American Express and can vary widely from bank to bank.

    Visa:

Visa also has a long list of offers and they can be found at: http://www.usa.visa.com/personal/discounts/index.jsp At Visa, you will find the most extensive list of discounts for everyday purchases and lower price point stores. If you have a Visa Signature card, you get even more discounts for travel and entertainment.

Visa Signature also offers the most benefits overall ranging from roadside service to extra rewards.

    Issuing Banks:

Banks are actually the companies issuing credit cards. Visa and American Express for example are just card networks. It is the banks that setup all the rules. Most credit card benefits vary based on the issuing bank. The banks are proud of their benefits, so they have probably done a good job of communicating their standard benefits to you such as rewards points or airline miles. However, from time to time they offer special promotions only for their customers.
